Sowerby Bridge to Norland Moor

1) From Sowerby Bridge Railway Station car park, walk downhill. Then turn left opposite the road tunnel that passes underneath the railway and walk up Norland Road.

2) Follow the road uphill to a T junction. Bear right and follow the road downhill. Scar Head Road joins from the right. A few yards on from this, turn left – uphill by the Scar Head sign.

3) Pass Wild Acre gates and continue uphill to a road. Turn right along the road. Ignore a footpath on the right and walk past The New Hobbit. Keep left, heading uphill on Hob Lane. As the road begins to curve left, take the footpath on the right.

4) Cross fields with fine views over Sowerby Bridge to the right. Continue straight ahead to a road keeping close to the wall on your left. Turn left up the road and pass a terrace of houses on your right. When you reach a road, cross it and enter a car park.

5) Go straight ahead uphill onto Norland Moor. Keep left at any forks in the path and continue uphill to the Calderdale Way.

1) At the link path post head downhill to a car park.

2) Go straight across the road and follow the minor road downhill, opposite the car park entrance. Walk past a terrace of houses on your left to reach a hose on the right just as the road starts to go more steeply downhill.

3) Turn right through a metal gate. Then immediately pass through a gap in the wall at the corner of a field.

4) Follow the path straight ahead keeping the wall on your right and head towards Wainhouse Tower in the distance. Cross fields with fine views over Sowerby Bridge to the left to reach a road.

5) Bear left down the road past The New Hobbit. Ignore a footpath on the left leading to 4, 5, 6 West Bottom but turn left on the footpath after the next house.

6) Go downhill between a wall and a fence, passing Wild Acre gates to reach a road. Turn right and keep right, uphill at a fork in the road. Turn left down Boggart Lane. This becomes Norland Road. At the bottom, turn right to reach Sowerby Bridge Railway Station.
