Mytholmroyd to Cragg Vale
1) Come out of Mytholmroyd Station and turn left along the road heading south, away from Mytholmroyd. Continue for about 800 m to the point at which the road crosses the river at Dauber Bridge
2) From the bus stops on the B6138 follow the concrete track which runs along the side of the stream from Dauber Bridge.
The track bears to the left and the Caravan and Motorhome site is visible on your left, by the footpath signpost, turn left.
3) Follow the path down through the woods to a footbridge across a small stream.
The path follows the main stream through woods.
At the lane turn left towards Clough Foot bridge and then turn right to continue following the path on the same side of the stream.
4) Continue up through Paper Mill wood, when you reach the wall keep it to your right.
The path goes down towards a house. Turn left along the lane and cross the bridge. Follow the road up and then take the footpath on your right.
Turn right a the tarmac lane and follow it past some buildings to a gate into a field on the left. Follow the path along the sides of fields.
5) At the double gate there is a building ahead of you. Turn left onto the lane and follow it round past the Steiner School. Turn right onto Rudd Lane and the Hinchcliffe Arms is on the right.
Join the Calderdale Way.
Cragg Vale to Mytholmroyd
1) Leave the Calderdale by the Hinchcliffe Arms
Follow the private road past the Steiner school and follow it to the left to a farmyard.
Turn right through the double gates and follow the path along the side of the stream through fields.
2) At the gate cross the lane and carry on straight ahead along a tarmac track past some houses.
Turn left down the footpath about 100 metres before the main road.
The path has a sharp left turn to cross the stream and goes up towards a house. Turn right by the house and follow the path up and down through Paper Mill woods.
3) At the bottom cross the lane by Clough Foot bridge and continue down the stream through the woods.
The path moves away from the stream as you draw level with the Caravan and Motorhome campsite and crosses a footbridge across a smaller stream.
4) Follow the path up through the woods to a concrete track and turn right.
This track leads to Dauber Bridge and the bus stops on the B6138.
Turn left and follow the road into Mytholmroyd
